Reviews

"It is such a beautiful and comfortable home in a stunning location. The owners had many thoughtful touches, like gifts upon arrival from local producers as well as premium coffee options, quality linens, etc. The location is incredible for pubs and many walks and is also well equipped with a local train station for travelling into Norwich or to many other places. It was dreamy to be in the hot tub or the hammock and just watch the boats so be, so relaxing."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property as a family of 5 with 3 teenage boys. The location is incredible with lovely pubs in walking distance. We managed to launch our paddle boards from the garden after getting some good advice from the local river ranger to know the tides and of course wear buoyancy aids. The hot tub is incredible, easy to get going and keep hot and the hammock was a bonus. We would definitely recommend this holiday home."

"Just got home from a weekend at this beautiful cottage and will definitely be going back. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. Situated perfectly for what we wanted. Peaceful and relaxing but with 3 pub/restaurants within walking distance. One especially was a beautiful approx 40min walk along the river to get too. Locals were welcoming and friendly and for a small village had everything we needed."

"The cottage was wonderful. It was furnished beautifully. Very comfortable. We loved the amazing view and the incredible log fired hot tub. This is the fourth cottage we've stayed at in Reedham and it's now a firm favourite. We'll definitely be back again for a longer stay."

"We have just arrived back home after staying at the cottage for a long weekend for Mother’s Day. We have had an amazing home from home experience, there was nothing else we could have wanted that wasn’t there! We ate at the Ship and can honestly say it was the best roast dinner we have ever had, it is a definite must try!! Relaxing in the hot tub and feeding the resident ducks was just gorgeous. We will most definitely be returning."

"Fantastic find!! Lovely location, very comfortable well equipped property. Very friendly local pub within throwing distance. Hot tub is extremely efficient so be careful how long you heat it but very comfortable to sit in and clear starry nights are amazing. Lovely hosts. We hope to come back!"

Melanie W on January 2024

"Lovely stay with the family (five) for New Years. Fantastic place to get away from it all, over looking the river Yare, great walks which take you directly into the broads. The amenities were very modern and excellent, and location has a local shop close by as well as two pubs, the Ship being one just down the road, which is in easy walking distance and serves food too. The kids loved the hot tub, and at night you can sit in the hot tub gaze at the stars!"

Nathan L on January 2024

"What a brilliant location and very high standard of accommodation. Right next to river with frontage access; we were able to have a boxing day paddle in our boats. Hot tub every evening. Brilliantly serviced kitchen. Very comfy rooms. Nice Local pub 200m up the road and village of Reedham a 5min walk. Perfect for our family to meet up for Christmas, a summer return trip already being discussed."

Location

Reedham is a charming village nestled on the banks of the River Yare. Renowned for its local brewery, Humpty Dumpty, which actively participates in the Reedham beer festival annually, and can be found at the local pubs within the village. A unique feature of Reedham is its chain ferry, one of the few remaining in the country, it provides the sole passage across the River Yare between Norwich and Great Yarmouth—a characteristic emblematic of this beloved village.

Staying in Reedham opens up numerous opportunities to explore some of Norfolk’s most celebrated towns, attractions, and landscapes. In just over 30 minutes, guests can eagerly anticipate a visit to the renowned city of Norwich, the traditional seaside charm of Great Yarmouth, and the acclaimed "capital of The Norfolk Broads," Wroxham.

Norwich, a city steeped in tradition yet on the cusp of modernity, boasts a surplus of entertainment and dining options. Noteworthy for its abundance of pubs, Norwich offers an exceptionally diverse culinary and nightlife scene. With a plethora of choices, including cinemas, bowling alleys, axe-throwing venues, and escape rooms, the city caters to varied tastes. For enthusiasts of history and culture, we recommend a visit to the magnificent cathedral at the heart of the city or the well-known Norwich Castle.

Great Yarmouth provides a quintessential seaside experience on the East Coast of Norfolk, featuring numerous arcades, fish and chip shops, and the renowned Pleasure Beach amusement park—famed for hosting one of the world's few remaining wooden rollercoasters. The beach, a popular summer destination, offers a vibrant atmosphere, with additional sun-soaking space available in the neighbouring beach town of Gorleston-On-Sea. For those seeking a more serene beach walk, we highly recommend Winterton-On-Sea—a practically untouched, sand-swept beach framed by stunning sand dunes.

No visit to Norfolk is complete without a day on the Norfolk Broads. Wroxham, often considered the heart of the Broads, serves as an excellent access point to these waterways. As a medium-sized town with a range of attractions, including day boat hire, Wroxham allows visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Norfolk’s famous river network—a timeless experience that remains unmatched.

With an abundance of activities and experiences to enjoy, Riverside Cottage provides an ideal base for savouring the best of Norfolk's offerings.
