Reviews

"Great location. Short walking distance to beach and town. The hotel across the road on the corner is good for lunch/dinner. "

"We had an amazing time staying in this lovely apartment. The bed was so comfy, there was a large smart tv so we could watch Netflix etc. Our children loved their room, and there were lots of facilities. It was quiet and in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the beach. The host was kind and helpful. We would stay here in again."

Francesca G on May 2024

"It was a lovely size and ideal for the location to beach and shops. The parking was good at the back door to unload from the car, everything was clean and tidy. Also nice and warm for that time of year and kitchen space was very good."

Michael M on January 2024

"Great apartment with large, well-equipped kitchen. Location on edge of town was perfect: less than five minutes to both the town and train station. Parking space was a bonus"

Location

'Cromer Town' building is a short walk from all of the key local attractions such as Cromer town, the beach, Cromer pier and an abundance of pubs and restaurants.

Cromer is a picturesque coastal town with some independent shops and attractive back streets around the medieval church. For those of you that enjoy a day at the beach Cromer is vast and sandy, is home to the renowned Cromer crab boats and, of course, the famous Cromer crabs. The water is shallow to the right of the pier and the further you walk, the more isolated it becomes with crystal clear water on a sunny day.

There are many places to eat and drink in Cromer, the likes of The Art house Café, Hatters Tea Shop (at the end of West Street), The Rocket Café, and North Lodge Park Tea Rooms on top of the cliffs behind The Rocket Café, and the Reef Stop on the promenade to the right of the pier are particularly popular.

The Red Lion Pub and The White Horse (on West Street) have good pub food and outside space. The Sea Marge Hotel in Overstrand does a delicious Sunday Roast. The Gangway is also a nice wine/cocktail bar with a growing reputation. For Fish and chips the locals recommend Mary Janes and some prefer Number 1 Fish and Chips. If there are queues in summer, then you can drive to The Park Chippy. Also, The Bucket List has become quite famous where you can get a bucket of chips with various toppings.

There are some lovely shops that have opened up in the past few years including galleries, souvenir shops, a surfing shop and an organic food shop. Lizzies (near the town end of West Street) is good for fresh fruit and vegetables and eggs and you can get freshly baked bread from The Craft bakery.

The Pavilion Theatre dates from1905 has its famous traditional end-of the-pier summer show, the only end of the pier show in the world!

Cromer's greatest figure was Henry Blogg, coxswain of the lifeboat from 1909 to 1947, who won the George Cross and four other decorations for saving lives at sea. He was involved in saving an amazing 837 lives, apart from his museum there are many places of interest nearby including Felbrigg Hall, Cromer Zoo and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre. The cliff path will take you to Overstrand (we recommend a drink or lunch at The Sea Marge Hotel) and to Sheringham (it is best to walk from Sheringham to Weybourne and back where you may catch a glimpse of the Heritage Steam Train that runs the Poppy Line between Weybourne and Holt). The walk from Sheringham to Cromer is also beautiful but check tide times as part of it can be either on the beach or the road. The Coastal Hopper Bus leaves Cromer and Sheringham bus stations at regular intervals.

From Cromer train station you can easily get to Norwich if you fancy a river walk or a bit of shopping at the market which has a fantastic range of stalls and bargains!
