Reviews

"Great place to stay. Really enjoyed it!"

Iain C on August 2024

"We stayed in the giraffe Lodge for 2 nights Well equipped kitchen, hot tub was lovely, heated blankets in the bed were amazing. Also great to have a large fire pit and inside fire. Very peaceful, quiet and super cozy, especially staying in winter. Being what felt like the middle of nowhere also meant we could see so many stars!"

Abbie C on September 2023

"Great weekend, great hosts and an amazing family adventure stay. The location is in the middle of lots of great places to visit and the place was well equipped with everything you could need. Really appreciated the hard work that you can see that went into creating a great experience."

Nikki M on February 2023

"This place is great for the kids. Collecting wood, building fires, wildlife spotting, running around like crazy, being feral, getting tired and sleeping soundly. Not a device in sight nor requested. "

Location

For many guests, the joy of this accommodation is the rural countryside and chance to experience living within and amongst nature. Much like with conventional camping and glamping holidays, days can be spent exploring the countryside before relaxing of an evening enjoying some alfresco dining under the night sky.

For those early birds, we would highly recommend a morning stroll to Thompson's lake which is about a mile walk from the accommodation. For keen walkers there is Pedders Way, which is a 46 mile long distance footpath which follows the route of a Roman road, and when joined up with the Norfolk Coastal Path to form Peddars Way & Norfolk Coast Path National Trail which is a mammoth 133 miles.

If you do care to venture out, there are a number of pubs in a radius of 3-6 miles away, with further options of restaurants, cafes and pubs available in nearby town Thetford which is about 20 minutes away by car.

Thetford forest park is a well-known and much loved attraction for visitors and locals alike, and is great for walking, cycling and mountain biking with over 47,000 acres of Norfolk's finest forest to explore. Go Ape is popular amongst all ages and offer various thrills, including zip lining, tree top rope courses and segwaying!
