Location

Half Moon House is located in the beautiful hamlet of Great Walsingham, and only a short 1 mile journey away from its neighbouring village of Little Walsingham, famous for it's religious connections to the Virgin Mary.

Just over the road are Great Walsingham Barns, which are home to the studio of renowned floral and botanical artist Sarah Caswell, two art galleries, gift shop and a delightful cafe which is open from 8am (closed Mondays) and serves a tasty breakfast.

In Little Walsingham, you'll find a village shop as well as a farm shop featuring a butchers and a deli, pies, cakes and desserts, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers.

There are also a number of coffee shops and pubs such as the Bull Inn, offering scrumptious heart warming dishes with ingredients sourced by local suppliers.

A short drive away, guest's can visit the picturesque beachside town of Wells-Next-The-Sea. Walking from the main beach car park and seaside café, visitors will have the chance to amble through the pinewood forest which sits behind the beach and come out by the famous colourful beach huts which Wells has become so well known for. As the sea drifts out small bodies of water are left behind which make for great fun to jump in and explore - especially for those travelling with children. Alternatively, a more conventional beach day can certainly be enjoyed by building sandcastles and sunbathing.

Outside of Wells, there's a range of towns and beaches to explore all along the coast, such as Brancaster, Blakeney, Salthouse, and Sheringham all within easy reach by car, whilst towns further inland such as Holt are well worth a day trip. Holkham Hall and Holkham National Nature Reserve are both just a couple of miles away and is another place to add to your list of must-visits during your stay!
