Reviews

"Great property, really nicely refurbished and well located for trips around north Norfolk. We were 2 adults, a toddler and a dog and it felt like plenty of space for all of us."

Tom M on August 2024

"We had a really lovely week in Salthouse. The cottage was very comfortable and cosy. The kitchen had everything we need, we really appreciated having things like tea and coffee and basic household products like dishwater tablets, cleaning stuff, so we didn't have to bring or buy everything. There was also a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival, a very nice touch! I particularly loved the huge bath and the views to the church, a really lovely peaceful spot. "

Anne G on June 2024

"We had a lovely stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and obviously well loved. We enjoyed walking along past the church to get a coffee at the wonderfully stocked village shop and the pub was also fab. Will return!"

"Lovely relaxing few days on the coast in this lovely cosy cottage. Well-kitted out and suitable for dogs. Amazing bathroom and comfy bedroom. Lots of dog walks close by with a pub 5 minutes away. Everything thought through including Netflix and log burner."

"The cottage was lovely, really comfortable, and with everything well thought through, it made our lives so easy having a travel cot and a high chair provided. The garden is a really private space, and the village is wonderfully quiet with lots of nice dog walks and so much to do locally. It was our first time in this part of Norfolk and we will definitely be returning - and if White End is still available would look to stay again!"

"We had a wonderful stay at White End. A beautiful cottage, thoughtfully renovated and very comfortable. It was incredibly relaxing and really well equipped - we couldn't have asked for anything more. I'd highly recommend the local pub for food and drinks as well as the stunning walks along the coast - the beach is only a short walk away. We can't wait to go back!"

"White end is the perfect bolt hole in north Norfolk. The house is immaculate but immediately feels like home. Salthouse is also a perfect, quiet village (with an exceptional pub and village shop) from which to explore what is a lovely part of the UK. "

Additional Information

The property features steep stairs which are not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

There are two stair cases, with the steepest stairs between the master bedroom and the kitchen. There are doors to the bedroom and at the bottom of the stairs, which means that access can be restricted from young children. We would advise keeping the doors closed.

There is also a stair gate at the top of the stairs in the hallway.

Although the property offers Wi-Fi, please note due to it's rural location it may be slower than what you are used to. Mobile signal can vary depending on your network provider.

Location

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and close to the beach, Salthouse is a village of charm and character set between a salt marsh and a high ridge in North Norfolk.

The village is a peaceful escape from the hustle of bustle of everyday life and boasts fantastic views over the marshes. Salthouse also has a wonderful shingle beach nearby, ideal for family days out, walks, wildlife and fishing.

There is also a wonderful pub, the Salthouse Dun Cow, where guests can choose from a variety of scrumptious dishes, including locally sourced oysters.

The village also has a fantastic local shop, which is great for stocking up on essentials and also serves delicious coffee, fresh bread and pastries too.

A short journey away, guests can visit the historic, Georgian town of Holt, one of the most attractive towns in North Norfolk, well known for its beautiful country park and popular cosy café, Byfords - the perfect place to grab a cup of tea and a delicate slice of cake after a long walk!
