What’s happening in Norwich this Christmas

Christmas is approaching thick and fast, and there’s few better places to spend it this year than Norwich! Festive cheer, warm lit streets and who knows, perhaps even a little carol singing along Gentleman’s Walk. Norwich always puts on some fabulous events across the festive period and this year is no different. Read on to find out a few of our favourite events happening this Christmas! (and of course a few suggestions on where to stay!)

Tunnel Of Light

Returning back to Norwich City Centre, the festive Christmas light tunnel is returning to the city on the 17th November 2022. As the dark nights have return, this fantastic display of 57,000 LED lights will once again light up our streets whilst doing some Christmas shopping!

Norwich streets will also be decked with Christmas lights, and they’ll be huge festive projections on Norwich Castle.

Norwich light tunnel will be located on Hay Hill leading up to The Forum.

Winter Wonderland Ice Skating

Nothing gets you in the Christmas spirit quite like ice skating, and this year at The Norfolk Showground you’ll find just that – a huge undercover real ice rink! They’ll also be a funfair with a host of rides, attractions and even a roller coaster.

A great afternoon out, they’ll of course be an array of delicious festive eats, license bars, Christmas music and live entertainment. And of Course the opportunity to visit Santa!

Forum Christmas Market

Is it Christmas without a market? Almost certainly not! This year The Festive Fair at The Forum returns across 4 days later this month.

From locally brewed beer and warm mugs of mulled wine to hot waffles and gourmet doughnuts – there’s a range of sweets and treats to tickle your taste buds.

They’ll be a range of stalls to look around filled with crafts, jewellery, textiles, pottery and much much more!

This event will be raising funds in aid of Norwich-based breast cancer reconstruction charity, Keeping Abreast. 

  • Thursday 24th November: 11:00am-7:00pm
  • Friday 25h November: 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Saturday 26th November: 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Sunday 27th November: 10:00am-4:00pm

Nutcracker Afternoon Tea and Igloo

Available from the 1st November 2022 all the way through to the 8th of January 2023 is The Nut Crack Afternoon Tea.

A great gift for Mum, or Grandma, a fabulous afternoon tea where each tier represents an act from the famous Nutcracker. Mix of sweet and savoury which can be enjoyed in the restaurant or as a ”cakeaway takeaway”

Xmas Pop Party

The ultimate family festive party show is coming to Norwich this Christmas between the 22nd-24th December 2022.

Attendees can look forward to a show filled with music, dancing, singing, comedy and circus, with star studded performers and even a live band.

Mariah Carey, “Fairy Tale of New York” and of course “White Christmas” will all be blasting out along with all of your favourite Christmas classics!

After the show, younger children can look forward to visiting Santa in his North Pole grotto, each receiving there very own gift – directly given by Kris Kringle himself!

Vegan Christmas Market

For all you non-animal product eaters, and even those who simply enjoy a tasty delight, A vegan Christmas market is coming to Norwich this year.

The market will be located in the forum, on Sunday the 20th November and offers free entry.

Perhaps you’ll be able to snag a few ideas for your own festive feast!
